    I'm on # 5 outside of Green River. We sided for a freight and never started back up because the freight seemed to have set off a hot rail problem alert before it passed us. The freight track people have to come out and clear the problem. No ETA. Great trip otherwise.

    I appreciate your post. I am used to the grime building up on long distance trains but I should have been more clear, in my earlier post I meant I was worried about the windows being overly dirty before the trip even begins. Thanks again.

    I'll be getting on the Zephyr a week from today, Chicago to Sacramento, then reverse a few days later. Having a clean window (bedroom) is a worry.
