I saw that too. All the facts stated were accurate but the train interior and Union Station were not accurately portrayed.

Yeah, and on the presumption they weren't in sleepers, as this was pre-Business Class they wouldn't have had access to the PPC either;-)

Wikipedia page for the episode -- it's the only episode of "The Big Bang Theory" I've seen (obviously, I wasn't impressed enough to continue watching).

Got me beat by one....I've never seen an episode. I've seen exactly one episode of the show mentioned in another thread, "Family Guy". It wasn't the Amtrak one. I came away with the same opinion you had with "The Big Bang Theory". The difference is, I'm not going to watch either based on a mention of the train or an episode based on it. Yeah, I know, some rail fan I am. LOL

The episode that took place on the Napa Valley Wine Train was pretty cool. Sheldon encountered another railfan, and they started rattling off trains by route name and destination.

Aloha

When this came up before, I checked with friends, and the seemed to think that the car in that episode was the studio stock rail car with removable side to assist with camera/lighting placement.

I'd love to see sheldon's reaction to visiting a massive model railroad layout.

I want to say the Filmore and Western provides a lot of the seats and other props for a lot of shows including that one
They do provide a lot of RR Scenery to the movie industry. And my friends may consider them their back lot.

Aloha
