It figures, the day I decided to take a day trip to the Big Apple. It's 6:42, and I'm sitting in the Club Acela at NYP waiting for 55 to take me home. It's supposed to leave at 6:45, but track a train is showing it stuck near Stanford. The agent at the Club Acela says there was a freight that turned over, and everything is stopped intil it's cleaned up. Oy
This must mean than Metro North is messed up too. Anyone know what's going on. Hope I get home before midnight.

A CSX freight train derailed as it was passing through a section of the Bronx on Tuesday evening.

Video from SkyFOX showed the train with one or two cars off the tracks near Longwood Avenue and Garrison Avenue.

CSX crews are heading to the scene.

Glad you got out! How crowded is the train after they were combined?

Let's see if it's fixed before the morning rush.
The train wasn't particularly crowded. I was in business class, but I walked through a couple of coaches on my way to the cafe car to get a stiff drink, and everybody who wasn't traveling together has a seat pair to themselves with some empty rows. The BC car was pretty empty, and most were off by Philly, so it was almost like a private car for me the rest of the way to Baltimore. The consist was 7 cars, 5 coaches, 1 BC and the cafe car. I guess they only sell 2 1/2 coaches worth of seats and half the BC capacity. I think that both trains were well below even that limited capacity. All of the afternoon trains were posting low bucket fares, unlike the morning trains, which were more expensive and were probably a bit of the end of the Labor Day rush.
