Chainsaws have a larger potential market than locomotive horns, I would assume. Surprising to me that Amtrak had so many of them, though. Must be more tree clearing than I would have guessed.
 
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't conductors allowed to use them if a tree's in the way? Could've sworn I've seen a Surfliner conductor use one onc.e
 
My grandpa stole at least 30 gallons of motor oil from the SP when he retired. It was for personal use though, not resale. So people do steal the damnedest things. Although why steal from Amtrak and use the Post Office? Those have to be 2 of the 3 most bored law enforcement agencies in the federal government. They have nothing but time and the resources to turn your house inside out.
