I live in Atlanta but have not heard of anything in local media reports....if I come across something I will certainly post it here. It would be amazing if rail service were expanded here.
We are on #8 now and there is good patronage in both sleepers! Unfortunately the one we are in has not been refurbished (ever?) but the one next door and the transition sleeper have brand new carpeting and lights. Didn't check the transition sleeper, but the other sleeper has the new upholstery...

Yes, it would be better to use them. In fact I had planned to use them when Amtrak had the recent sale on roommates. But they would not accept points for payment, only cash. So I didn't want to pay more for the room with points when it was "cheaper" using cash equivalent. I know, probably stupid...
At the suggestion of another AU-er, I opened a formal complaint with the feds and FNBO was required to respond to me. Low and behold, they reviewed our documentation (again) and then reversed their decision and reopened our closed account!

It's more than 15 minutes, #307 was carded for 5' 30" in 2013, it's now 4' 59" so a good improvement. Expensive? Yep...but now Amtrak and UP have a good set of smooth tracks!
I know that is not right for NYP-ALB, It's 75 mph from YNY-CRT, then 80 CRT-POU, then 90 or 95 up to HUD. It's only 110 mph for about 10 miles north of HUD to ALB.
Today I took the Lincoln Service/Missouri River Runner from Chicago to Alton, IL. I wanted to see the new Midwest equipment but also ride on the finally-finished (?) 110 mph corridor from Chicago to St Louis. It was niiiiiice.
My Amtrak authority says the track is rated for 110 mph between...
