Gateway Project/New York Penn Station capacity improvement

I was actually referring to the structures on the new section of approaches to the bridge which would presumably be new construction and could use a more modern type of catenary support as on the New Haven to Boston electrification. I suspected that this was an artists conception rather than...

    Cleveland Greyhound Station sold

At least the interim move to the Transit Center is better than nothing, although that transit center does not appear to be convenient to the rapid transit or light rail lines nor the Amtrak station. The new intermodal center would be ideal although it sounds like it is still a ways off.

    SEPTA cancels contract with CRRC

I believe they were planning to use them primarily on peak hour express trains which make less stops so therefore the slower acceleration of locomotive hauled would be less of an issue. It should also be noted the acceleration of the ACS-64 is pretty good compared to earlier models. Although...

Gateway Project/New York Penn Station capacity improvement

The animation and some drawings show old PRR style variable tension catenary supports. I would hope that the approaches would use constant tension catenary in any new construction.

    Horn noise and fumes

Boston section (448/449) usually has the single sleeper behind the engines, then cafe and coaches. New York section (48/49) has the sleepers at the rear after the coaches and the diner. Back when 448/449 still had checked baggage, the baggage car was between the engines and sleeper which did...

    India passenger news

I guess that's like the "William H Gray III 30th st. Station" in Philadelphia which is mostly referred to as just " 30th St." No disrespect intended towards the late Representative Gray but it is just easier to say.

Dublin to Belfast speed and frequency enhancements

Ireland and Northern Ireland seem to share one thing in common with the US, that of studying and planning non-highway transportation projects to death but never pulling the trigger because there's "no money". This one does seem to have some momentum due to the EU driven need to reduce fossil...

https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2024/04/09/dublin-belfast-train-to-take-less-than-two-hours-and-run-hourly-after-multimillion-euro-investment/ Ireland's only international train service, the Enterprise between Dublin and Belfast in Northern Ireland is due to get an increase to hourly service...

    Northeast Regional discussion

Amtrak uses yield management like the airlines so prices tend to go up as you get closer to your travel date. I would grab it, if a sale happens you could always cancel and rebook.
