Yesterday, I stepped off at GBB (Galesburg). There were 3 police officers, who I believe we're city or county. They were eyeing everyone getting off the CZ. Once the train departed, they hung around the station for about 30 minutes. I asked the ticket agent if the police meeting the trains was...

My source was a 26 year SCA. She said the reduction would eliminate about 12 positions on the CZ. I'll try to find out more on my return trip next week.

According to the SCA on west bound CZ this week, they will be dropping one sleeper car & one dining car attendant. I can't imagine one person waiting on both sides of the dining car.

Same old story - freight traffic.

Before 10pm, we were told we should be on time into SLC. I think we were an hour and a half late into DEN. Detour had great scenery, but not spectacular. I feel bad for the first timers who missed the Rockies.

We were just informed of the detour (on #5). No stops between DEN & SLC.

The line for the waiting room was past the double doors. So the crush had started.

I'm going to change to the 6:37am train. That should give me plenty of time to have brunch at Lou Mitchell's and settle into the lounge before the CZ 2pm departure.

I know there is track work on the Illinois tracks. (I can see it from my house. ) On Nov 10th a delay of massive proportions occurred on 302 between SPI & BLN. I leave in a week on the CZ and I'm trying to figure out what my options are if I miss my connection in CHI. Currently, I'm scheduled...

Thank you all! We aren't too concerned with the meals, but with the comfort of our friend with the bad back. Just one last clarification: 3 would not be permitted in the H room because it only seats 2, correct?
