Weird, last night 22 was three locomotives and 8 cars long leaving Texas, but today in STL, over 4 hours late, it left with 5 cars and two locomotives.
So today's 22 from SAT is canceled of course and I guess tomorrow's 22 will look like the 22 from happier times with two locos , one of the two being ferried back to CHI, pulling 8 Superliners. No need to add the Superliner coach in STL.
How is it a dispatcher in DC or CHI thinks it makes sense to hold 1 at SAT instead of putting connecting pax on a charter out of Temple or Austin and meet 1 at El Paso. Back in the good ole days of the 80s and 90s, Amtrak a few times put them on a SWA flight in DAL and flew them to El Paso and...
