Why is TE 11 hours late out of STL? Mechanical?

    Texas Eagle discussion

Yes, but this train has two consists because of the cancelled 22 two days ago.

Weird, last night 22 was three locomotives and 8 cars long leaving Texas, but today in STL, over 4 hours late, it left with 5 cars and two locomotives.

So today's 22 from SAT is canceled of course and I guess tomorrow's 22 will look like the 22 from happier times with two locos , one of the two being ferried back to CHI, pulling 8 Superliners. No need to add the Superliner coach in STL.

If this project goes to Stadler, does the Utah facility have the capacity for 500 car order?

And that is the point I appreciated the most in that interview, one cannot design LD equipment based on decades-old tradition. The market today would not appreciate the "good ole days". Their needs and expectations are different. Glad Gardner referenced the Canadian's equipment, eventually and...

Long Distance (LD) fleet replacement RFP discussion 2024 H1

That may be all true but we are also not playing the political shell game he is playing either with funding. Amtrak, rightly or wrongly is a political beast. Where common sense economic planning goes out the window as soon as a congressman's aide is calling you. Even Amtrak's greatest CEO...
