I'll mention the Jackson, MS station that Amtrak shares with Greyhound. It was redone 10-20 years ago and looks really nice both outside and inside.

Thanks for all the feedback. It's nothing more than an idea right now. I have multiple trips in my past (including a 7,000 mile circle throughout the west) but she hasn't done anything more than a day trip from Jackson to New Orleans. Theoretically, we would take CoNo from Jackson to Chicago...

We would prefer bedroom, but if it saves a lot, a roomette would be fine. We are pretty open about going whenever. It would be post pandemic when things (hopefully) get back to a daily service. We definitely want to go during a dead period during the year, whenever that may be.

We have started looking at taking a trip on board Amtrak for our honeymoon post covid. I started looking at prices today for sleepers and was shocked to see how expensive they are. Is this normal, paying $2,000+? I haven't checked prices since my last trip about 5 years ago, but I don't remember...

Just got off the phone with them. Their answer? Of course you can take the longer route, it'll just add a day. No problem since I want to be on the train! And then once I get in Seattle, I can let my Rail Pass kick in and finish my journey! Greatly looking forward to this trip as my graduation...

If I wanted to redeem points for a roomette from Jackson, MS to Seattle using two zones, would I be able to go CONO-CZ-CS? Or would I have to take the more direct route of CONO-EB?

Now that my trip is just about finished (a little ways outside Longview) I'll post my opinion on the dining service from two different trains. On the City of New Orleans, I had the jambalaya for dinner, and it couldn't have been anything more than food out of a can. Very little rice included...

Currently on Texas Eagle and was on City of New Orleans yesterday. Both trains did the same thing and it was appreciated.
