    Springfield, MA Amtrak

My last trip had been in February. My job has kept me shackled to a desk due to a high turnover rate. This was one of the very few times I managed to get out of town. Even then rather than my annual week off vacation I ended up having only getting a day extra off vs my normal schedule.

    Springfield, MA Amtrak

Addendum So I took an afternoon trip to Springfield tonight. I was lousy but other than a half hour delay by the Vermonter 55 it was the weather and myself to blame. Lost my favorite hat due to the wind and my favorite gloves due to my own negligence. Anyway But lookie lookie. Benches at...

Connecticut DOT new car order for Alstom

The Euroduel do atleast the ones that Turkey just bought back in 2019. Stadler to supply bi-mode locomotives to Turkish rail freight operator The Airo sets will operate as both diesel and cat. As they are intended to operate on the NEC as well as off of it. Including in my NECk of the woods on...

When I worked for PPB back 10 years ago. Worcester was the standard route. With a few Non stops. Even then though you have the Mass pike to contend with. During Covid lockdowns PPB took its schedule apart with a blunt instrument. Many of the routes were consolidated. Some trips that were easy...

Pittsfield John Staci, Springfield Union, Worcester Union, Boston South stations are all intermodal. Connecting Amtrak, CTrail (Springfield), Peter Pan, Greyhound and local BRTA/PVTA/WRTA/MBTA buses at a central station hub along the LSL eastbound. Boston North Station also connects to MBTA...

His father probably could have stoped it, however as a former PPB insider. From when I was hired in about 2007 till I was laid off the second and final time. The company was run aground. Post that termination in the region Peter Pan has been farther facing stiffer competition inroads. It started...

    Kim chugs to Vladivostok...slowly

He uses the doubles policy similar to Putin and Hitler. Three identical trains spaced minutes apart each likely packing a body double. Even over perfect track I doubt it could kiss 100kph. It’s an armored train probably a blast resistant underbody with bullet resistant glass. The addition of...

    New York Penn Station v3.0

Not without razing MSG, probably Moynihan hall and a few other buildings. Old Penn Station intentionally put the Railroad platforms under street level. When they committed the crime of demolishing old Pen the platform’s were converted into the basis of the modern Penn and the modern development...

The Biggest benefits are payed inside Massachusetts for the state’s infrastructure projects. I hold to that. Not only as that’s what’s getting the investment for work in phases but also as the way the Subdivisions we are talking about string and the Lakeshore limited brakes down. Beyond...

In this case though I don’t believe that the existing service is realistically competitive at beyond a multi day excursion. An End to end trip from Albany Rensselaer NY in a car is about 2.5-3.5 hours. The Lakeshore limited is about 5 hours on the same route that’s not great but considering the...

I was simply quoting what was stated in the new source. The accuracy of that statement is on them. I was more interested in what the nature of the Adessia rail cars is.

@NES28 I couldn’t agree more particularly as someone who lives just north of Springfield. Now by Peter pan Schedule a trip from Springfield to Boston South station is a 2-3 hour trip 4 if traffic is really bad. (Been stuck in it on a PPB on a Summer day.) Flix or Greyhound shave that down some...

I agree, I am not knocking that. I am just posting it with the clear context that it is a Oped.
