I'm a retired steelworker. Retired in 2008 after 44 years and 8 months of service.
I've been interested in trains since riding my bike to watch the "Steamers" and occasional diesel on the old Pennsy line at the Genoa road crossing climb the hill out of Massillon.
In late 2007, my wife bought a 4 disc set entitled "America by Rail", and we've been hooked ever since. Our first trip was in July of 2008 from Alliance Ohio (home station) to Grand Junction Colorado.
Since then we've traveled over 36,000 miles on Amtrak with the most miles on the California Zephyr, Capitol Limited, Empire Builder, Coast Starlight and Lakeshore Limited, in order of most to least miles.
Wife, Kids, Grandkids and travelling Amtrak.
