A long time rail fan and now retired from the fire department. My wife and I enjoy riding trains and have had a great time finding short lines and excursions. My wife was a little reluctant to take Amtrak overnight but we finally broke that barrier on the Southwest Chief. It almost was her last time as there were a few things that caught her by surprise. The Coast Starlight saved the day as we both really enjoyed that route. We keep adding routes and I am so pleased to have found this forum. Talk about insider information.
