A bit of history of what was and what was planned for the northern routes

Are there bedrooms on the Starlight that can accomodate 3 adults? Would it be cheaper to use the Cascades from Olympia to Eugene and connect with the Starlight to Sacramento?

I'm planning a trip to the East Coast on the EB, Seattle to Chicago nonstop. Looking for suggestions for travel east. LSL or??? Want to see Niagara, NYC, Boston, Maine, maybe Connecticut. What Amtrak routes to take, other routes. Plan is to spend at least one day in Niagara, NYC and Boston.

Used one on 20+ trips and had very restful sleep.

My trip is planned as a roundtrip on the CS from Olympia to Sacramento, CZ to Galesburg, SWC to LAX and back to Olympia with no overnights. I'm familiar with car numbers on the CS but need feedback on CZ 640 and SWC330.

I am booked on the CZ in car 640, room 20 {initial booking was car 632) from Sacramento to Galesburg on Sept. 23. Is that car an old one?

Earlier attempt wasn't in the spam folder so I considered it a failure and tried again. Success!!! Leaving 09/22/2022.

One last glitch. They took my money and then no confirmation or E ticket. Is it usual for a 5 hour delay between taking the $$$ and confirmation?

Finally stumbled on the payment thing and booked the trip. I've overnighted from Seattle on the Empire Builder many times as well as the Starlight and Sunset Limited. I want to ride these routes while I still can and am interested in the scenery, not the cities. Thanks for the input.

The multicity did the job. Got all the way through the process to review purchase and have been kicked back to "select payment credit card. Can't find that check box. Suggestions???

I have worked up a schedule as follows: Depart OLY on Starlight to Sacramento; Zephyr to Galesburg; Galesburg to LAX; LAX to OLY. Should be a seamless ride except for the LAX connection to the Starlight. How does one book these trains so that Amtrak is aware of my connections?

With this schedule change, what are the odds of Seattle to Chicago to Sacramento being a seamless ride?

Thanks to all who responded. I may skip the EB and go south on the CS to make a loop on the Zephyr and Chief.

In the past 30 years I've traveled on the empire builder as far as LaCrosse, Wisconsin; The Starlight and Texas Eagle to Tucson. Now I'd like some feedback on how I should schedule a trip from Seattle to Chicago, then West to either Sacramento or L.A. and back to Seattle without having a layover.
