I keep getting a network gateway error preventing me from purchasing a ticket on the Amtrak app for iPhone. No matter which card I use. I can use Apple Pay in other apps no problem, so it’s not a card issuer problem.

Does not look like you are using Apple Pay there though. You are using Amtrak Apps credit card processing AFAICT.

It was apple pay actually. It worked when I just input the credit card number in. I wanted to use Apple pay because I get 2% cash back with the apple card as opposed to 1% if I just swipe or manually punch in the number. Not that big a deal really.
The error I found in Xcode documentation and it points to an issue not with the bank processing but in the gateway between Amtrak and the processor. There were a whole long list of reasons, all of them pointing to Amtrak. I have previously used Apple Pay from within the app, so it has worked before. I know that I updated the Amtrak app just moments prior to attempting this booking, so maybe it is an error they will patch quickly.
