i see if i book a trip before a certin date in September, i can cancel my booking if i need to. i am traveling on January 1st and return on January 9th. So do i go with the saver price or still go with the value were i can cancel up to about 14 days before. i will be going on a cruise.

Take the higher one that costs more. This way you'll get more back when you cancel! 
I did not check the current policy, but are you sure you can cancel and get a full refund? I recently had an agent tell me that the policy is no fee for a change but there is a fee if the passenger cancels.

Same here. I had two reservation, one I wanted to change and the other cancel. I got the change without a penalty, but was told there would be a fee for canceling. So I just let it ride since I plan to take another trip in the near future.

When I may need to cancel I usually book Business Class.

And I've found in some cases, it is cheaper than anything but the cheapest coach fare.
