I met someone on the platform at Greensboro last Friday that uses the Carolinian in the morning as a commuter. 5 days a week to Burlington, NC. i am
not sure if he has a car ride or takes the Piedmont or Carolinian in the evening.

We have some regional buses as well but he stated he never took the bus.

He is the first person i have met that is using these trains as a commuter in my area.

I have never met anybody using it as a daily commuter. However I know a guy that took a Piedmont every Sunday from Charlotte to Raleigh, and return home on Thursdays or Friday. His employer was eating all the expenses.

High Point<>Greensboro could work and for this guy Greensboro<>Burlington does work. Durham<>Cary/Raleigh might be doable and Charlotte <>Concord. To me it would work best taking the Piedmont in the morning and then having that as an option in the afternoon/evening. The Carolinian is decent on-time in the morning heading north but it is late enough southbound in the evening that I am not sure I would want to rely on that train. Though their is regional bus around the Triad area of Greensboro (PART) and the Triangle area of Raleigh-Durham (GoTriangle) that can help and even a PART bus that connects to a GoTriangle route in Chapel Hill at the UNC-CH Hosptial.

I used to take some of my physics classes to a Saturday field trip to Charlotte (once) or Raleigh (more often). The return from Raleigh always made me nervous due to the possible lateness of the Carolinian. And I only had a few students and they were always well behaved. I think the last time we visited Raleigh there was a later Piedmont and we took that back west(southbound, though technically north of Raleigh) and did not have to worry about a late arrival into Greensboros. But I was doing that once a year and not once a day.
