There is 90-110 running on bnsf, csx, and UP. Needs to be more of it, but it’s possible.

There should be more 90-110 mph running across the country. Once it goes over 110, the costs get high enough that it needs to be in specific corridors. And of course there are other issues like what good is 100 mph running on a Chicago to New York line (there is already some 100 mph running on...

On the Crescent? There’s way more than 30 people in the Atlanta waiting room to board the train. I’d guess it’s close to 100 usually.

The sandwiches on Amtrak are never really fresh. Lol. The “fresh” salads and sandwiches were cut from the cafe menu during the pandemic. Most likely because of the shelf life.

On the eastern side, Norfolk Southern used to be much better than CSX. Unfortunately nobody seems to remember how to run a railroad these days. :-/

I love the scenery on the Crescent. Blue Ridge Mountains, Small southern downtowns built up along the tracks, rolling hills in Alabama, southern farms in Mississippi crossing the Lake on the way into New Orleans.

The vendor hasn’t changed since traditional dining has it? Was it a different vendor for the salad boxes?

There is no need to change vendors. They just have to change the order from the current vendor.

It seems to be quite accurate. I’m not sure how it connects and what type of combination of data and gps it uses. Sometimes it has trouble connecting, but once it’s connected it usually stays connected.

The airport has short term and long term parking and rental car options as well as convenient drop off and pick up locations. I’ve been picked up and dropped off from both the South Bend Amtrak station, and the Airport. I prefer the airport and so did my relatives who were picking me up.

See that’s the problem... a flyover isn’t sexy high speed rail... it’s a boring overpass. But it would do so much to improve OTP for 12 trains per day (and growing hopefully...)

I think “reserved” means you need to have a ticket on an Amtrak train.
