    Best Chicago-Florida Route?

It might be slower, but it would be possible to serve Lexington as tracks there exist.

    Infill Amtrak stops

Why doesn't the CONO stop in Cairo?

    Amtrak serving every state capital

Dover DE has tracks through it. Most capitals do, except Annapolis.

    Amtrak serving every state capital

Let's say that Amtrak received a mandate to serve every state capital on the lower 48, what routes would you propose to accomplish this goal?

    Infill Amtrak stops

Has anyone mentioned Oxford on the Cardinal? Maybe one or two more Nevada stops on the CZ. Also Emporia, Virginia, on one of the trains that goes through there.

    Best Chicago-Florida Route?

The traditional Floridan route through Bloomington does not exist anymore unfortunately.

    Best Chicago-Florida Route?

In my opinion via Atlanta is the best option.

Any possibility of Amtrak serving South Dakota?

The state has no trains and hasn't for decades, and I've never heard of any plans to bring trains back there. What routes would be possible?

Why does the Texas Eagle not go through Waco?

Both tracks seem to be in fine shape.

Dunkirk isn't on the LSL line.

    Infill Amtrak stops

Old thread, but Dunkirk, NY should really be a stop on the LSL.

Amtrak route with least amount of support?

West Virginia is not huge but the people there support the train, even though it only runs 3 times a week, which counts for something. See Empire Builder vs other long distance trains. I think that the whole route is worthwhile but really it needs to go daily.

    What would you add?

Good plan, but the tracks east from Columbus are terrible.

Amtrak route with least amount of support?

The Cardinal is a candidate in the Ohio and Indiana parts.

Amtrak route with least amount of support?

It would be sad to lose the only non Chicago transfer point though.

    What would you add?

Kinda strange how the population did not follow the railroad there like in other places.

    What would you add?

There are also tracks going se from Provo. Unfortunately, the tracks from SLC to LV don't go through the populated areas.
