Thanx for that confirmation. I'll delete its square brackets the next time the master is updated.

    Low Bucket Alert post needed?

My question was meant for Cheerose - so edited the post to make that clear

    Low Bucket Alert post needed?

How do you know that the low bucket you found is the lowest possible bucket? This struck out as I now see you're aware of the thread with the bucket charts. Back to your question. Does it help? It certainly wouldn't hurt. Especially as most forum members seem to realize the offer of a low...

While this sounds highly reasonable... ...there's also this... ...which makes it a toss-up.

Long Distance Train Coach & Sleeper Fares (Buckets)

Please take note of the following errors on the chart in Post #84: • Change CS Saver Coach fare from 99 to 101 • Change EB (PDX) middle bucket Roomette fare from 884 to 769

    Dining On the Empire Builder

Same sort of subject, but how about dinner on the CONO heading South out of CHI at 8:05pm? Sounds possible based on what's said at the bottom of this...Amtrak Flexible Dining... but even if you board the train at about 7:45pm could this be one of those crew discretion thingies?

    Amtrak Dining

Cal nailed it. The individual bucket levels on the EB to/from PDX are actually only $1 or $2 more than those on the EB to/from SEA. If you poke around on Arrow long enough using different dates, you might even find one where the SEA section was $400 more than the PDX section for the same kind...

Only way I can seem to book three in a bedroom on-line is if one is a child. How do you manage it?

Long Distance Train Coach & Sleeper Fares (Buckets)

Thanks for the kind words and for the fare updates. If the sleeper you want is is at, say, middle bucket there's some chance it may never go go down. It could stay the same or go up and I know of no way to know which of the three will occur. If it's at low bucket buy it because it can't go...

Amtrak overcoming the Pandemic; back to tri-weekly service?

And, FWIW, the CZ is currently bookable every day from 16 through 22 Jan 2022. Does this simply mean CACharger's dire prediction has yet to be implemented? Or, does it mean something else? Stay tuned boys and girls! :)

Amtrak overcoming the Pandemic; back to tri-weekly service?

CZ's still bookable the whole first weeks in December and February, so I'm calling BS on CACharger262!

Amtrak overcoming the Pandemic; back to tri-weekly service?

Both the CS and CZ are currently bookable every day of the first weeks of December and February, so you'd better get hold of "the top" and tell 'em to get off their butts and make the changes in Arrow before too many more worthless reservations get made!

    Timetables returning in September?

Those original timetables can be found here... Amtrak Timetable Archives - Home ...but the most current one is, IIRC, the last paper one put out by Amtrak, is about 3 years old and is a bit outdated. Outdated ones can also be found here: Amtrak Routes & Stations Convoluted current...
