I did this a couple years ago (eek, it's been that long?) and I asked someone how I would get to the light rail, and they were quite helpful. Didn't expect to come up the stairs to see what was then CenturyLink Field RIGHT THERE in front of me.

I hadn't looked at the ASM tracker in a while and I was shocked to see the website update! My only feedback is that it doesn't open specific trains in new tabs anymore, but that's minor. Otherwise, it's awesome!

I'll have to go down and see it once it gets further west!

I see the first lawsuit has been filed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you sort of turn over some rights to the travel vessel (train, plane, auto) when you buy a ticket? Sounds like a pretty terrible situation to go through though...

Oh, wow. I feel a little weird thinking about this because if I was on this train, I'd have been in the cars that were still upright. (I'm along the Seattle route.) Yikes.

Ohhhhh, so one coach and one sleeper? I've only ridden that specific route once - I take it the lineup is atypical from the east bound train?

I should say, the coaches are a ways back from the rest of the train, not the SSL.

So it look like the SSL and the two coach cars are on their sides and quite a ways back from the rest of the train and sleeper/dining cars stayed upright? Yikes.

I did the $299 Rail Pass this summer and will be doing the Rail Pass again next summer (I'm going to make the time off work one way or another; I wasn't working this summer). I stayed with some friends along the route and hostels the rest of the time, but sleeping on the train wasn't too bad and...

I'm really only in it for passenger rail. I don't see the appeal of freight trains - they all look the same and just block Amtrak when I'm trying to get somewhere. ;-)

I took a notebook on the last long trip. I wrote, or doodled (and I'm no artist) throughout the trip and it was pretty cool to look back and see what I'd written. Then I came home and accidentally set a wet glass on it, so it's funny that it was fine on the trip, but wet after I got home. Sure...
