    Viewliner Sleeper Bathroom Question

Yeah sorry to say we passed on the Amtrak for several reasons, including the lousy new food service, the weird toilet situation, bizarre schedule, and ended up booking a flight instead.

    Viewliner Sleeper Bathroom Question

Sorry for the noob question but am I correct in remembering that Viewliner sleeper cars do not have bathrooms outside the rooms and roomettes?

New dining options (flex dining) effective October 1, 2019

Wow....61 pages. And I recall getting temporarily suspended from this site last year for complaining about the food changes and their impact. I'm sorry to see my concerns were well founded. The only solution at this point is to pack the Amtrak board with more sympathetic members and get a new...

Chicago: Why was there a Superliner train on the South Shore tracks this morning?

I didn't know about the CN tracks...it was probably the CONO then. How does it get to Union Station from those tracks? I've never ridden the CONO and won't because of the terrible downgraded food.

Chicago: Why was there a Superliner train on the South Shore tracks this morning?

I saw it around 10am heading north near Soldier Field. Not a south shore double. Unequivocal Superliner consist with Sightseer car

which is better? Empire builder or via-rail Canadian?

I vote The Canadian. That train is a focus of pride by the Canadian government, and that pride comes thru start to finish. Incredible service, food, scenery, equipiment. Re: Park Car-- while beautiful, I found it very uncomfortable since it was the last car. Worth a look but never stayed.

New dining options (flex dining) effective October 1, 2019

I've deliberately booked other forms of transportation on any route that serves "contemporary dining". Not gonna ride those unless I get a proper meal, which "contemporary dining" ain't by a mile.

    2019 LSL Food Reviews?

Dang I'm sorry to hear this. I'd love to ride this line again someday when good food service is restored. Just wanted to check in if things had significantly improved.

Experiential service class on long distance routes

PV is extremely expensive and out of reach for most of this market each time I've priced it out.

    New Menus on #8

Pretty good lookin' menu.  Hope they keep and improve the "cooked to order" aspect.

Which is the best Superliner Bedroom on the 29 Capitol Limited?

Bring shims to jam into the rattling door.  They work.  For sound transfer, I use gaffers tape to tape along all seams of the door, including the floor.  Helps a lot.

    National Menu Changes?

It just reeks of a disenfranchised, unempowered front line employee base trying to operate under a vague behemoth.  Think opposite of Southwest airlines, where staff are empowered to just get things done.

    National Menu Changes?

This all sounds so very Office Space.
