Does anyone know why Empire Builder number 8 has not departed Seattle yet, listed as four and a half hours late tonight (friday 3/10)?

Staff were great. I was sleeper from Albany to Chicago but they helped me book sleeper from Boston to Albany which it turned which it turned out I have plenty of points for. Staff on the train is great also!

7 and 8 are all running now, weather seems acceptable next couple days. I still plan to be on 7 leaving CHI Wed. Can't wait, I haven't been out of the state of Maine in 7 years or more 😖.

Looks like #8(1) will be getting into Chicago tonight several hours too late for a connection to the lake shore Limited. As such, a sleeper reservation probably can't be honored because they're already fairly full. So what are the options what happens?

Well that works . Of course I will not have Hudson River views because I'm going from/to Boston but I think that I can see the Erie Canal on both sides of the train at different times, daylight permitting. D.

Thanks for the reply. I have ridden it full length once each way but several years ago and schedules have changed quite a lot since then. I will be going both ways in March and I am really looking forward to it!

Ok, reading back through earlier posts: I believe if I understand correctly if I'm in sleeper on 49 or 48 the odd numbered rooms will be facing north, and even numbers facing south between Chicago and Albany. Correct?

I wonder how often roomettes turn over on the complete run of the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle and back, any ideas?
