All my bags have been soft-sided, and I have not had a problem checking them. I usually travel with a couple of duffle bags that I may check while carrying a couple more smaller duffels as carryon.

I fully understand that - but it still doesn't stop me from "wishing" it would happen :cool: As it stands now, I cannot try Brightline. If they came to Jacksonville, I could give it a try.

Or concurrently ... perhaps using existing tracks and running at the same speed as Amtrak until new tracks are built.

I would like to see routing to Jacksonville - it does seem to be in their plans but who knows when/if that will happen

It's interesting that many seem to feel Amtrak is understaffed and now seem to feel Brightline is overstaffed - maybe we are just so used to how understaffed looks that we see "good service and staffing" as too much instead of just sitting back and enjoying the good service.

I have worked for many, many years on construction sites. I tend to find the restrooms on Amtrak to be far cleaner than the port-a-lets on job sites, so I have not really had a problem with any of the Amtrak restrooms I have encountered while traveling coach.
