Yes, I was on the Maple Leaf (63/64) in September of 2022 and all we had to do is go to the cafe counter and ask for what we wanted. What’s so frustrating about Amtrak is each crew makes up their own rules. There is no consistency whatsoever.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I was able to purchase two (2) Lounge Day Passes for 3,000 Points. They are good for one (1) year from date of purchase. Since the holder of a pass can bring one (1) guest, two were plenty so all three can enter the lounge.

Despite the efforts of three (3) different crew members, the right seat in my Roomette in 4911 would not let down to form the lower bed. So, my SCA moved my wife and I into the handicapped room in 4912. Wow, this room is so spacious! A very nice upgrade on the house from Amtrak! 😊

The LSA in the diner is new and made a mess with dinner. The orders were messed up and the food was cold 🥶. My SCA came on the intercom and apologized for the mishap.

So true. The salmon on my less-than-stellar Silver Meteor trip in May 2023 was inedible also. This was also the trip with the surly and lazy SCA! So, it seems the formula is: Flex Menu + Surly Crew = Even Worse Than Normal Flex Meals
