    COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic: Amtrak-related Discussion

I'd cancel. With all the people involved who knows what your situation or others on your trip is going to be in July. Best to just re-wind and start over whenever things change.

They're also about ready to go under, don't book unless it's straight thru, no telling where you'll end up.

Could Transmashholding expand to North America?

The Rooskies probably don't want to take credit for the Wonder Car YUGO. ( One had to wonder who would buy it and where it would break down. ). They were running the show back then.

    COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic: Amtrak-related Discussion

I don't mean to abolish you of you desires to do what you want, you certainly are entitled. And I know you don't have to be reminded that this ongoing dilemma is as serious as a heart attack. Have a great day!

    COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic: Amtrak-related Discussion

I can understand someone wanting to ride a train to get home, traveling somewhere just to travel is ridiculous. What are you going to do when you get wherever, or who are you going to talk to, interact with. Nobody wants to really get close to other people, especially strangers. If you want to...

    Favorite snacks to bring onboard

Some of that Snyder stuff turns messy, gooey to the touch after opening. I like the original pretzels. With wine or beer. I will say, these dry snacks usually pass the smell test, some of the previous snacks when opened are less than fragrant.

Why trains instead of planes for long distance?

On the same note, a trip from DC to Indianapolis on the Cardinal, which arrives at O dark 30 created nightmares for my inlaws, believing they were in danger having to go to the Amtrack station at that time of night to pick us up. arriving at odd hours is an issue.

    Texas Central Railway

The term shovel ready is a little scary. As in what happened to the HS Train in California when Governor Gavin Newsom buried it. Although, without a mountain to climb you're probably good to go.
