    Coast Starlight Business Class

I'll be riding this next week, LAX-OKJ, and I'm curious to see how it goes. I used points, so I might have a different perspective than if I paid. Can't wait to get on another long distance train!

    Cross-Country 11-City Honeymoon

Thanks for sharing your insight. I am writing a blog about the trip. It's password protected in real-time, for friends and family, but I'll make it public afterward. As for video blogging, I might include video in my blog once in a while. You had a neat idea to mount the go pro. Would love to...

    Cross-Country 11-City Honeymoon

I just looked, and our schedule can't budge. Looks like we'll have to plan on having <24 hrs in Omaha. Not the end of the world, but I can't help but feel like a hotel is a waste of money when you check in so late. Thanks for the info!

    Cross-Country 11-City Honeymoon

I believe we are staying in the old market area. Yes, train comes through around 11:00pm. Anyone know if it tends to run late? We only really have 24 hours there. Would hate to lose much of that. :\

Adding Dave's to the list. We are still going to Omaha for a day. I think it'll be a good short stop. I'll definitely look for the east-west CZ passing! Great tip! And yes, it sounds like a few people recommend Doc Holliday's grave. Will have to Che j it out. :) Thanks!

    Cross-Country 11-City Honeymoon

We just found out we are too late to sign up for a White House tour, so another trip seems inevitable. Will definitely keep Capitol Limited in mind. Thanks @jimhudson for the tip, too! I'm hoping the Cardinal manages to be on-time westbound.

    Cross-Country 11-City Honeymoon

Thanks for the tips! Mosquitoes love me. I'm sure they'll find me everywhere we go. :) He wants to see the museum of quackery; I want to go to the Walker. Unfortunately we won't be there on a Wednesday! But we will try to check out the James J. Hill house. Thx!

    Cross-Country 11-City Honeymoon

These are all great suggestions, and you're making me feel like this trip certainly won't be our last long Amtrak trip. :) I don't think we'll have time to do any of these things on this trip, sadly! I've made note though. We did, however, remove Reno. We live close enough to go again. With...

    Cross-Country 11-City Honeymoon

We don't really have plans yet. I've been before, but he's never been. I'd assume we're seeing the standard monuments. I'm dying to have Ethiopian food out there as well! I've heard it's amazing.

@FormerOBS We are taking the Cardinal, as recommended by our agent. Have any experience with that route? The Capitol Limited sounds nice, though! Sounds like we will need to do that another trip. :)

I'm new here and checking things out. Just wanted to say that I think it's SO COOL how you guys keep track (no pun!) of the trains like this. Excited to keep poking around. Very neat stuff here on this forum. :)

    Cross-Country 11-City Honeymoon

Thx for the feedback! This is exactly the kind of insight I'm looking for. Chicago: we're banking on staying with family, so we figured asking them to stay once would be easier than two visits in 2 weeks! Got it re. Omaha/Denver. Will check out Glenwood Springs. Thanks! I'm definitely going...

    Cross-Country 11-City Honeymoon

Hi All, Thanks for the warm welcome, and thanks in advance for advice/suggestions! I love trains, he loves antiques, and we *both love history.* We just watched the PBS documentary about the Transcontinental Railroad. So intriguing. We are hitting 11 cities in 30 days. Would love tips for...

So just for the record, I called, and it is NOT possible to get those referral points retroactively! I thought maybe it was, but nope. :(

    Hello, new here

I'm also getting used to the app, so pardon my slowness. Thanks for the welcomes! Yes, I'm already registered with AGR, but thx for the reminder--I'll have to get my husband registered. We worked out our basic itinerary yesterday--will post that in a sec!
