A day in the life on the Eaglette

In Taylor, may I suggest Davis Grocery & BBQ, definitely local, 400 S. Robinson St., (512) 352-8111. A local resident suggested we go there instead of Mueller's. James Davis has been in that same location for over 25 years. His preacher works the serving line. Both inside and outside dining...

    Is Portland, OR Safe?

I agree with you, Powell's is over-priced, spent several hours there didn't buy a book, we're spoiled by Half-Price Books in Dallas. Spent a month in Portland, August 2006, (the least rainy month of the year) while my wife was in the hospital. While there, my son and I were refused service in...

Difficulty getting into top bunk of a Roomette

If necessary, I remake the upper bunk with feet toward the steps, i.e., crawl-in, back-out, without removing the safety harness, I recognize the risk of crash or emergency stop but willing to risk that rather than a fall getting in or out.

Will soon make a multi-stop trip back East, our first under under AGR 2.0, Yes, I made a few runs between DAL - FTW to complete Select level, but no more. Agree! VIA's Canadian is the best LD train in North America. Used the old AGR for the DAL-SEA and the BUF-DAL legs for 3 years in a row...

New Amtrak Guest Rewards Master Card - Fall 2015

Have a lock on credit reports because Federal Office of Management & Budget (OMB) got hacked and millions of Federal employees and retirees are at risk. Talked with BofA, said I would need to unlock credit reports ($50 to $150 outlay). Instead, had spouse go through Amtrak Guest Rewards site...

I received in the mail today informationthat Chase is issuing a VISA Chase Freedom account effective 9/30/2015 as a replacement for the AGR card. This new account will have no affiliation with Amtrak GR program. Unfortunately, I should receive the replacement Chase VISA card in 6 to 8 weeks...

Amtrak Mastercard on Chase site seemed to disappear.

Consider this situation: you have have a Chase AGR card and your wife/or significant other has a companion card. You are on extended travel (let's say Amtrak), you check your Chase statement and you find a charge for Securus Phone service (this allows inmates to make phone calls on your...
