    Maricopa, AZ to Phoenix?

If that shuttle bus existed when I was at ASU, I probably would have actually used it. Instead I didn't have a car and had no way to get to Maricopa so I wound up just flying everywhere instead. At one point when I was there, Maricopa had some sort of commuter bus but it was timed for business...

Amtrak Mask Mandate - Practical Discussion

I was in a roomette on the EB in early April. When I had my door closed I had my mask off, even with all the curtains open, and this was allowed and the SCA didn't say anything about it. I put my mask on whenever he came by to speak to me about something or whenever I left my room.

Various questions about Portland (OR), plus some long-haul questions for Train 28 (EB PDX-MSP), as of this week

Hi everyone, I'm about to embark on an out & back trip to Portland (from Minneapolis-St. Paul) to celebrate my birthday. For context, I'm an able-bodied/athletic man in his mid-30s, traveling by myself, and I am also post-vaccination. I have a number of questions as I don't want any nasty...

    Direction of Superliner Sleepers

The order of cars in the consists is pretty consistent, but the inconsistency is on which end of the car faces forward. I'm booked in an upcoming Portland EB roomette, and I know I'll be in the last car on the whole train but even though I know my roomette number, I don't know which direction I...

Comparing Amtrak B/R fare to First Class Air Fare

For my upcoming trip, flying Alaska in First Class MSP-PDX was just $178 one-way; a roomette on the eastbound EB PDX-MSP Train #28 was $490 for me on the way back home ($233 base fare + $257 for the room).

    EB and Glacier fire?

At least Shelby is on I-15 so the longer-distance buses can just take 15 and 90. I imagine people headed to West Glacier, Whitefish, and Libby (not to mention Essex) have it the hardest.

    EB and Glacier fire?

Is the train holding at Shelby indefinitely or is it cancelled with buses coming in? I'm wondering what happened to anyone heading to Seattle. I really dodged a bullet here. I wonder how far 7(20) will operate.

    EB and Glacier fire?

KPAX out of Missoula says the BNSF mainline at Essex has been closed.

    EB and Glacier fire?

I decided it was too risky to take the 7(20) considering the time-sensitive nature of my trip. I'm sure glad I stumbled onto this forum and thread as I would have had no idea of the fires. Took the eVoucher and booked a non-stop itinerary on Delta instead for only $303, not bad for short...

    EB and Glacier fire?

I'm supposed to pass through that area on the Friday evening 7, traveling MSP-SEA. What will happen if the track gets closed? Will my train detour, or will they put us on buses at Shelby, or what? I pretty much need to be in Seattle by 3 PM on Saturday. 7 has been arriving in SEA mostly on...
