We will be going west. Surely the high water will be down by then. Is the recent snowfall out west going to cause any significant delays?

When we departed out of Indy back in Jan. There were homeless sleeping IN the depot. Made pallets right on the floor and went to sleep.. Made me weary since I had to leave my CC at home.

We want to take a different route coming back home. But,love the scenery going west on the cz.

We took the EB east in Jan,out of Spokane.. Imho,that was a miserable trip. We were the caboose, the tracks were rough as a cob. Had to walk several cars forward to the diner.

Not wishing to take the CZ east. Either the southwest chief or texas eagle?

Trying to figure out the details. This is for Jan 2017. We want to take the CZ west to Eme. Then coastal starlight to Klamath. But we would like to bring the southwest Chief back home. If we ride the CS back to LA,it seems we will have a 21 hour lay over... Any other ideas?

I guess on my next trip,I will ask if they are offended,by my 2 dollar bills. If so,they will just have to do without a tip I reckon.

As for the source. Right on the front of the two dollar bill. Says this note is legal for all debt.

I bought 50 two dollar bills just for dining tips. I usually left two or three per meal. Depending on the service.

My theory on train between Indy and the windy. There was no delay on the rails today. As compared to the pileups on the interstates because a little snow.

We took it south had a great dinner. We were returning from a trip west on the Zephyr and east on the Empire builder. So scenery was a moot point.

Our roomette is basically the caboose. And the ride is rough,is being the rear car adding to rough tracks? Or just my imagination? We have to pass through four cars to get to the dining car.

Had some excellent Thai food. We left the depot on time, but arrived 30+ minutes late the Klamath. I was not impressed at all with the conditions on the CS..far from clean. Compared to the CZ it was not something I will look forward to doing again. On our CHI to SAC trip..... I have read many...

Ok went to the museum. Was very nice,the shops in old town consist of candy shops and import junk and tee shirts. So here we sit in the depot...

We are coming in on the CZ#5. Arriving at two something.. But we have a ten hour layover before boarding the Starlight. On the starlight,we only opted for coach. On the CZ we are roomette. Are we still allowed to use the lounge? Would like to check our luggage and go see some sights.

Just decided to check into the metropolitan lounge.

What all offerings are available to roomette travelers during our four hour layover in Chicago?

I have not been in to such place in years.. I reckon inflation has hit the slobber trough industry too.
