This is because of tunnel height restrictions south of Washington (which is not a problem on the Capitol Limited because it leaves Washington going northwest, not southwest like every other LD train).

I have de-trained multiple times this year at Ashland, VA (ASD) and it's a low-level platform, so the conductor has had to radio the engineer to tell him when to slow down and eventually stop.

I was poking around the Amtrak website and it looks like starting 7/11, Train 95 will *not* stop in Ashland, VA, but it will add 67 and 185. So right now, 95, 125, 93, and 85 service Ashland (southbound service), but next week, it will be 67, 185, 125, 93, and 85.

I did see certain Northeast Regionals between NYP and WAS (e.g. 111, 180, 182) were restored effective today, but I also just noticed that 85 now originates in BOS. This now means one-seat service is available on weekdays between Boston and Richmond, VA Main Street (RVM), but with 66/67...

Nailed it -- although Amtrak's advisory came out a few days late: Amtrak Advisory | Track Work Affects Palmetto Train 89 TLDR: the Palmetto will be on an altered schedule MTuWTh this week (2/22-2/24) and next (2/28-3/3).

Right, my question is, why the schedule change?
