Over the last month the Eagle was late into Austin approximately 2 hours late four times. Several other times an hour late, but mostly close to on time. I'm not aware of having the sleeper pulled since there’s only one assigned to the Eagle, so maintenace tries to keep that car on the train.

You mean a Bedroom. (The entire car is called a sleeper.) There are only 5 Bedrooms, so the competition may be with more bidders. Good luck; bid more than the minmum. Unlikely that the roomette wil be canceled. You do give up the Roomette if your bid for the Bedroom is successful.
