I don't think anyone has discussed this, but could this be the end of berths? Personally I prefer more privacy and they feel outdated, but I believe a berth is cheaper than a single room. Wonder if they will implement it or not in a new design.

On the railcams yesterday, someone mentioned the American View was attached to the consist with transdorm so they could get food from the dining car. They also said supposedly the president of Amtrak was onboard, though can't confirm.

Is there still enough time to even get complete sets out and running by then? I assume ordering long distance cars might not be as easy as the corridor train sets. I wonder how long it took the Rocky Mountaineer to get there's from planning to revenue service.

This doesn't happen terribly often, but still more than you would imagine. One train gets to sit at the station and the other waits in the yard for around an hour. Must be boring!

Interested to know more about how it all works. Amtrak seems to cancel trains, but looks like both The Canadian trains are on their way. Here in Edmonton it's currently -37c (windchill -45c) and it's supposed to reach -45c (windchill -54c) around the time they arrive.
