    Halfax to Vancouver

A few weeks ago I completed one of my dream train trips and rode Via Rail from Halifax all the way to Vancouver. No layers just going from train to train. I started Wednesday at noon on the Ocean. Arrived late in Motreal for the Corridor train so I had to go straight to my train. In Toronto I...

Going to be on TV next week

The 2cd season premiere of the NBC series Revolution will feature a very special guest star-me. I will be in one scene where I play an evil doctor. I was very lucky to be cast in a small non speaking part. I'm not an actor but I figured that if they were going to film near me and I have lots...

All-Day Staffed Stations For Just One Train?

El Paso is the same way. Amtrak has to have full time staff for the stations that do baggage. Must be a pretty nice job.

Video of my trip on the Cardinal

Here's a video of the trip I took last April from NYP to CHI on the Cardinal. I rode coach the whole way and I really enjoyed my trip.

Plane Crash (777) at SFO (7/6/13)

I once flew on an Asiana Air flight from Seoul to Teagu, South Korea. The scariest landing I've ever done was in a C-130 in Iraq. Those combat landings seem to defy the laws of nature.

    The Cardinal

I rode the Cardinal westbound from NYP to CHI last April. I made the whole trip in coach and I really enjoyed it. The scenery was amazing.

I don't know the story behind this video but I found it on YouTube and it's a wedding on an Amtrak Train.

Sleeper as a single traveller DC to SF

I have travelled quite a bit across the U.S. in coach and have really enjoyed. It's not perfect and no showers is a bit of a problem but nothing that can't be handled. I also spend a great deal of time in the lounge but still sleep in my seat . Sleeping in coach can be uncomfortable but it can...

    Dallas Houston Run Time

There is no way the same train could go to both College Station and Huntsville. They are just too far apart.

    Dallas Houston Run Time

I would imagine that TXDOT will wait to see what becomes of Central Japan Railway's plan to build a high speed train between Houston and Dallas. They say they can do it for $7 billion and not use any tax money to do it. In fact they say they have already put together a group of investors and...

Arlington, TX to get bus service

Still no bus service from CentrePort to Six Flags or the Rangers Ballpark.

    Dallas Houston Run Time

I believe the train used to stop in College Station home to Texas A&M University, a really college and the source of a good bit of the passengers on the Houston to Dallas route.

Medical Emergency on the California Zephyr 6/10

I was on the Texas Eagle once when the train was stopped in Arlington between Dallas and Fort Worth to take a passenger off for a medical emergency. I don't know what the emergency was but since it's only about a half hour trip between stations it must have come up suddenly and been very...

Coach boarding on the LSL in Chicago

I rode the LSL out of Chicago back in April and there were no assigned seats. Of course the train wasn't full so there was really no need for them.
