#6(29) was 4 hours late into Denver and is still over 3 hours late approaching Chicago. Does anyone know what happened. It has been doing well lately. :help:
Took #6(6/27) to Chicago (2 hours late out of Sacramento). SCA was wonderful, volunteered to get ice from the diner, juice, water and coffee available. I left a day early and booked a hotel room in Chicago because I did not trust the connection with the cardinal on 6/30. It's good thing I did...
Because of the Zephyr mess, I am flying to Chicago and spending the night before catching the Cardinal. How much is a cab from midway to the loop (9:30 pm)?
Status map shows arrival 24 minutes early and departure 3 hours and 30 minutes late. Is there more trackwork? As aome of you know I am scheduled to take the Zephyr Sunday and connect with the Cardinal in Chicago. #6 seems to even miss the bus bridge to Indianapolis. I will watch closely, but...
The Eastbound Zephyr is running 5 hrs+ down. Is it thunderstorms, flooding, or both.
I'm connecting to the Cardinal on 6/30 and I am getting concerned.
Taking the Zephyr/Cardinal to PVD in a couuple of weeks. With the Zephyr's OTP, I was wondering if they ever use the Galesburg to Indianapolis thruway bus to transfer passengers if the Zephyr is very late. The bus leaves Galesburg at 5:10 PM which would work if the Zephyr is about 5 1/2 hours...
Thinking of a trip SAC to PVD. I would take Amtrak outbound and fly for the return trip. I would need to get to the airport to pick up my rental car. I will arrive on 66 at 6:48 AM. Does anyone know the best way to get to the airport. Google says it is 9 miles so a cab might be a possibility.

Just a thought that came to mind.

Amtrak's web pages still advertizes rotating menus, but the downloadable sample menus are the same for all of the western trains. Do they still rotate the menus, or am I going to have the same choices on my CZ, SWC, CS trip?
I had to modify a reservation SAC-NPV to SAC-CHI. The extra 30 miles cost me $120. I evidently lost my low bucket price. I went online 5 minutes later and the low bucket was back. I called right back and remodified the reservation. The difference was refunded back to my card. Thanks to all you...
I'm going to be taking the SJ BFD to SKN and then Thruway connection to MRV. The timetable only has a 5 minute connection at SKN. Am I correct in asuming that the Thruway Coach will wait for the passengers if the SJ is late? :help:
