Proposing this thread be for actual riders on the LSL, CL who have experienced the new food service. Actual reviews from actual riders with personal experience on these routes, not just kvetching. Some kvetching allowed, but only around specific reviews.

This is a petition against all the dining car downgrades and cuts at Amtrak. Please don't get all psycho up in my grill about change.org -- they are hosting the petition and so be it. Save that drama for your mamma...

Just saw tonight's Pere Marquette in Harbert, Michigan tonight. She's running a P42, 3 Superliner cars, and a Cabbage. I thought she had been demoted to dreaded Horizon equipment but not so.

We don't have many friends who take the train, but when we tell them about the diner, they typically get quite interested. "Better than airplane" food is, for us, a key leg of the whole reason to take a LD train in the first place vs flying. The others being scenery, sleeper accomodations...
