Texas Eaglettes in Trouble in Texas

I'm not sure I'd make that assumption. We're talking about Amtrak here :-)

    What should Amtrak change?

A private car owner once told me that NOL was the best Amtrak facility to deal with. Chicago has been the biggest problem since day one (crews and maintenance).

Modifying Sleeping Car Reservation made with AGR points

Good God. What a mess. I think I'll just take the 20% hit on the points and reschedule myself ! It's a pretty small redemption, so the penalty won't amount to very much anyway.

Modifying Sleeping Car Reservation made with AGR points

I am trying to modify the date of travel for a Sleeping Car reservation made with AGR points (with the 40% discount). The App says to call an agent and the website will only allow me to modify the dates for coach and business fares. Sleeping car fares are grayed out even though they are...

    40% off offer using points

By text, do you mean the chat with an agent option ?

    AGR Digital Member Card

Got the email (I am Select Plus). Nothing on the iOS App or website. Maybe it only works on the East Coast ! LOL

Radio stations along Texas Eagle route

I mostly listen to the non-commercial part of the FM band (88-92 mhz) on train trips. There are some in the 92-108 mhz segment as well. There are quite a few interesting local stations along the route. Not a fan of NPR since most of their programming is national, but sometimes there is some...

How reliable - or not - is Greyhound?

Sounds like something that would happen in California

Boston's trackless trolley-bus service will end on Saturday March 12th

TT's don't require toxic batteries and never need recharging. Go figure !

    Will anyone miss Amfleet cars?

I will miss the wider seats

    Sacramento, CA

Stay at Holiday Inn across from the station. Walk to California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento during the daytime.

Business Class in long distance trains

I really wish the San Joaquin trains and the Bakersfield-L.A. Thruway Bus had BC. It's a long trip from the Bay Area or Sacramento to Southern California and the Surfliners already offer the service. It would be particularly attractive if beverages and a box meal were provided, now that the Cafe...

Amtrak considering shifting Credit-Card Portfolio away from BofA

I think its called "Premium" on Brightline :-)

Ugliest and Soul-less Amtrak Stations Used in Metropolises Today

The Austin, TX station is pretty dismal for such dynamic city. Are you going to nominate it Bob Dylan ? :)

Has anyone here done every (current) Amtrak route, end to end?

Have ridden all long-distance trains except Auto Train, City of New Orleans and Texas Eagle from St. Louis to Chicago. Still missing quite a few corridors: Downeaster Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Virginia Service Empire Service and Maple Leaf Adirondack Ethan Allen Express Carolinian, Palmetto...

Ugliest and Soul-less Amtrak Stations Used in Metropolises Today

Richmond, CA station ws like that in the 80's-90's. I am not sure if that had changed since the remodel.

Ugliest and Soul-less Amtrak Stations Used in Metropolises Today

Intermodalism gone wrong. Bus stations served by a train do not leave a good impression of Amtrak.

    Worst Trackage on Amtrak

It used to be terrible, but it was much better the last few times I've ridden in (2019-20)
