Whatever siding I'm sitting on!
Local news report that a pedestrian was struck by an Amtrak train in Colonie, NY. This is the Empire Corridor west of Albany and east of Schenectady, and also north to Montreal and Rutland.

Footage shows a car parked next to the tracks. Why was this pedestrian even near the tracks?

I guess stupidity is not only in Florida!

Condolences to the crew & family.

It also happens in Virginia.

A person died as a result of being struck by the 90 Palmetto near Lorton in June of last year. This was the incident that caused the train I was on (83 Northeast Regional) to be held at ALX. I was heading to NPN from BAL (returning home).
