On Friday the AAPRCO 7 car special came through Deland, FL. It was on its way to Miami for a weekend of touring on the U.S>.Sugar railway around south Florida where it was to be pulled by their steam engine. It stopped at the station where a gentleman boarded who I learned was the AAPRCO organizer for the trip and lives in a nearby town. That night the train went to Miami and returned to Sebring on Saturday. There it was to be pulled by U.S. Sugar's Engine 148. During the weekend it was traveling through the towns in the area including Clewiston and Ft. Pierce. Starting April 28 through the 30th the cars will return two at time on the Silver Star.

It was quite a show at the station as the train pulled into the siding just north of the station to wait for the Auto Train as it barreled through. On the wye just south of the station the 3 car CSX local was patiently waiting for a clear track.

Hope the videos work, my first attempt.

On rare mileage...the ex SAL "Hollywood Beach" used to cross this line at Marcy regularly when assigned to the Silver Meteor....
