Amtrak Conductor Mark passes away

According to the dining staff on the California Zephyr, an Amtrak Conductor named Mark Simmonds who boards out of Emeryville on the California Zephyr has passed away.

According to staff it was in Reno and due to a heart attack.

This is always terrible news.

That's always awful. A good friend of mine had her dad pass away in a similar fashion (massive heart attack while on a business trip), it's always hard, but I think more so when there's no warning.

We'll keep his family and coworkers in our thoughts.
