As most of you know, I worked for Greyhound from 1966 to 1981. After the inception of Amtrak, Greyhound management fought tooth-and-nail to get Amtrak's subsidies stopped.
In my later years at Greyhound I was a member of management. I tried in vain to tell the higher-ups that teaming together with Amtrak was the way to go. They refused to listen to me.
Take a look at Greyhound's website today. A substantial portion of their business now is providing Amtrak Thruway Bus Service. Had they listened to me back then, their company would be in much better shape than it is today.
