AU members at gathering (service distruption)

Any of you take CS #14(28) to get to Portland for the gathering? I understand that there were a few problems with that run! Also, now no passenger train travel between PDX and SEA. If I recall, some members had planned on day trips between the two cities. Bummer. Maybe tomorrow?

14 just departed PDX for SEA. Also the last Cascade 508 of the day is expected to run normally.

I was on 508 from Eugene to Portland on 9/30. It was expected to go all the way to Seattle, however, the train exchanged equipment in Portland. The passengers traveling north of Portland detrained in Portland and walked cross platform to board the train that was going to be 508 for the rest of the trip.

Incidentally, the 14 that arrived Portland on Friday was terminated at Portland and turned there with passengers to and from the north of Portland bussed, due to very late arrival. Fortuitously, this prevented the consist from getting stuck north of the track failure on Saturday.
