I realize that Amtrak refund policy has changed, so if we needed to cancel a reservation shortly before our trip we could only get an e-voucher for 75% of the ticket's value. Would this also apply to the roomette and car reservation fees?

At least in the past, if an Amtrak train was going to be significantly delayed, you could get a refund of the entire ticket price if you didn't want to wait for an available train. Is this still the case, and how would it work for the Auto Train? How late would the departure need to be to obtain this refund

That is, if our southbound Auto Train was very delayed and we decided to just drive instead, what would the refund procedure be, if it still exists?

Thanks!

Dying to hear, since our Xmas train was totally cancelled. All we got was an email "We're sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for being a valued Amtrak customer. Unfortunately, we don't have other transportation available. " However...doubt you'll get anything...especially since you "decided to just drive instead". I did hear from someone actually on the train that caused the whole mess...they were dead-on-the-tracks for nine hours and got a $100 voucher. P.S. - met people that had to wait at the Comfort Inn for 3 days for available space = $0.00
