Biggest railroad yard in the world!

Double posting aside, Bailey Yard at North Platte, Nebraska, is the world's largest railyard. The golden spike tower is a tourist attraction which overlooks the railyard.
and from looking at the yard I see no equipment shortage. they have hundreds of railcars. and locomotives.
Many of which are probably loaded or en route to be loaded and waiting for dispatch orders. Just because there's some rail cars sitting in the yard doesn't mean they're not being "used" in one way or another.
the ones in the far back haven't moved in weeks
I know the ones closest to the service shops are outbound cars. I also see 20-30 locomotives.
