Location
Just North of Normal, Illinois
Bloomington and Normal, Illinois are adjacent to each other and when mentioned together, they are known as the "Twin Cities".

We are located at the Heart of Illinois where Interstates 55, 39, and 74 join. Getting here is easy with an airport and frequent Amtrak trains. We are just a few hours from Chicago and St. Louis and have many fine hotels and restaurants.

Children's Discovery Museum, the David Davis Mansion the McLean County Museum of History, the Shakespeare Festival, The American Passion Play, as well as Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, Heartland Community College and Lincoln College, are some of the major attractions in our area. Whether you want to see old movies at the Normal Theater, or daily animal feeding at the Miller Park Zoo, it’s all here. We’re the location for headquarters for State Farm Insurance, Mitsubishi Motors North America, and Country Financial.

The Amtrak code for Bloomington – Normal is BNL. The Texas Eagle has sceduled stops as well as 8 stops daily on the Lincoln Service. At this writing, the Amtrak station is across the tracks from a new Multimodal Transportation Center which is under construction.

Ah, B-N(as people call this area). It brings back memories of when I used to attend Illinois State University, to see this thread! And just to think, the renovated Amtrak station and multimodial transportation center, has been completed for a few years already. The Shakespeare Fest in the summer was always fun, and I wouldn't mind attending that once again someday.

Don't forget besides Normal, downtown Bloomington has an interesting downtown with a lot of restaurants and bars. And it does have a small arena(US Cellular Coliseum), that sometimes hosts concerts and various events. The Castle Theater has been renovated, and nowadays hosts music concerts and bands.
