Trains Newswire today reports that HSR Authority has come to terms for providing a large amount of financing for the planned thru track layout at Union Station. It is stated that the deal will, of course, provide space for HSR tracks. Does anyone know how many station tracks/platforms they will get? I know space is tight.

Link Union Station Final Environmental Impact Report - June 2019

It's 1562 pages in total and a little confusing as it shows changes from the earlier draft. Looking at it, it shows 10 thru tracks (ultimately, the document suggest some staging in the construction), and one or two platforms and two or four station tracks for HSR (and it seems to suggest some of that work will be done separately from this project). All the tracks, at least in the station area, seem to be at the same grade. The only viaduct looks to be the one that will carry the 10 thru tracks over the road to the south of the station. The project also includes re-configuring the throat and approach tracks north of the station.
