In January 1974 my wife and I made our first Amtrak trip - Santa Barbara to Oakland spending a week in San Francisco on our honeymoon.

In January 1974 I was the token gaijin at a Japanese tour wholesaler with my office located in the Brooks Brothers building. I commuted on the Powell and California cables. Maybe we brushed elbows! Or I missed you because assistant Tamiko had just brought coffee for our official break, and I was looking out the window before getting back to the RCA Telex messages from Tokyo.
