  • The 43-mile commuter rail line could run from Durham, through RTP and Raleigh, to Clayton
  • The proposal includes 16 stops along the rail line, which would have 8 trains during the morning and evening commutes, plus two trains during the day and two more after the evening rush
  • If everything goes as planned, construction could begin in 2025 and the line could be running in 2030
  • The project is expected to cost $1.6 billion to $2.1 billion. The proposal could get a bump from the new infrastructure spending plan that passed through Congress last month
