Curious about pricing City NO verse's Local rate.

Wondered if anyone has an in site as to what is going on with the pricing on the Chicago, Carbondale, New Orleans corridor. I am checking prices to Chicago in a few weeks and the Local Saluki train is showing 52.00 from Centralia north. While the cost on the City of New Orleans is showing 39.00 coach. Same in return. Oddly the City fares were usually a premium charge ranging 20 or 30 dollars a fare sometimes higher than the local trains. Other than having to go much earlier in the day, I am not sure why I would want to ride a limited train for more money? The room charges however as seen across the board just about are showing considerably higher than they used to. The Saluki also has Business Class for an extra 16.00 taking the fare to 68.00 one way. It however is sold out. Many times the fare out of chicago on the City are in the 72.00 range or higher, so seeing the 39.00 really is odd.

It all depends on the bucket! The CONO is probably empty and is in a lower bucket, while the Saluki is almost full and in a higher bucket!
