California Zephyr from Grand Junction to Fort Morgan and return.

Thanks for that link, a positive and well written story, that manages to capture the essence of what riding on a long distance train is about.
The mention of Fort Morgan as the easternmost Amtrak station in Colorado on the CZ route, reminds me of when it stopped at Akron, further east. It never had much patronage, but was a crew change point for engineers, when the BN staffed the train. When Amtrak took that over, the engineers ran to Lincoln, so they eliminated the Akron stop.
