Vermont is certainly doing a good job for their residents and visitors as well. Although would like to see a night train on at least one route have to be practcle that Vermont cannot really afford unless the Canadian situation is changed. For Canada to work Canada will need legislation even stronger than present Amtrak or the new RR legislation being proposed in the US house.

Has the service been suspended? When I search from NYP to Rutland or Burlington I only get bus options from Albany?

No, the train service is running, although there is also a bus connection from Albany that follows a different schedule and route through Manchester. For the train to Burlington, make sure you choose Burlington Union Station (station code BTN) as your destination, rather than the Burlington downtown transit center, which will give you the bus option. And for Rutland, choose RUD, the James M. Jeffords station, rather than the MVRTD transit center, which the bus serves.

Use station code RUD for Rutland and code BTN for Burlington.
Amtrak has made a mess of multiple station codes for the same cities.
Indeed. Perhaps Amtrak should do what airlines do - have individual station codes for each station and additionally have codes for cities that have multiple stations.

If Amtrak would just get off their duffs and publish timetables so that bus and rail complexities were better documented and discoverable. God knows how many people get turned away. How is the lay person supposed to tell the difference between Downtown Transit Center and Union Station and what goes where.

All we have is this:

How about Montreal? Has service there suspended as can't find tickets.
Ethan Allen does not go to Montreal. That would be the Adirondack and service restarts on April 3, 2023.

Ethan Allen is and has been running to Burlington (code BTN)
